Adobe Premier 6.5 is great for making awesome videos

premier 7.0 or pro is pretty much the same jsut more effects if you want to go more advanced

Studio 7 [HTML_REMOVED] 9 are pretty good, depends what you're wanting to get out of it…

Avid Free DV

Its free and its based on the industry standard interface.

It will get you started on the basic stuff, and you wont have to break the law to use it :P

Adobe premier will do the job but its not great, or free for that matter.
Final crap pro is Mac only.
Final Cut Express is the the same as the Avid free DV but it costs $500!!!

Dont forget you need firewire to get the DV stream in to da computer
