102,400 iso WTF!
was gunning for a d700x but might have to reevaluate my shopping list.
Just because I like boys doesn't mean I want to go out with Mike.

i love my d90, so i imagine this will be an amazing body as well.

I was hoping the canon 5dII was going to go a similar way, keep the resolution lower to gain high iso and fps on a full frame body. I can only assume the price is going to be up there with the current d3. The 7d in a full frame would be awesome from canon.
its 5200 USD so 200 more then the d3, you gain far cleaner images throughout entire range, dual CF card slot, HD video, sensor cleaner, etc etc all for 200$ seems like a bargain to me.

holy crap, that's unreal.
my dream list just went from D3 to D3S
I shoot with a 80-200 2.8, 85 1.8, and 17-55 2.8, the classification of "professional" is pretty vague, I know people who regularly get published that don't consider themselves Pro, a well as people who do just because they've graduated from a Photo school. I wouldn't consider my self a Pro until I was making a living off photography and photography alone, as of now, I've just graduated from post secondary, and am only shooting for clients inconsistently. But, doesn't mean I can't want or own a new trick tool especially if it means that I might have something to offer a client that another photographer might not be able to.
Plus right now, it's not in the cards anyways, lighting equipment is needed far more.

I saw some kid using a D3 at Crankworx with a $300 lens. Unless you're a professional, don't waste your money, or you risk embarrassing yourself.
I'd have to care what people think in order to be embarassed
that being said, it's a dream list. There's a Ferrari on it too.

$300 lenses at f/8 look a helluva lot like $2000 lenses at f/8
You need to 'justify' a camera like you need to 'justify' a bike. Buy whatever you what, enjoy it however you please.

apparently not to the people surrounding you at Crankworks….
exactly.
Besides I was more curious about the 65 year old lady shooting with a Point and shoot with full media credentials and a wrist band on course, when great shooters were screwed for access.
