i got the bike about 3 weeks ago only taken it for a few rides whenever i have the time, it feels amazing compared to my old faith, i have never ridden a bike that was so agile in the air and i am _blown away _by the performance of the 40's

specs:
2006 glory frame
fox 40 rc2's
hayes mag brakes
sdg i-beam bel-airSL
raceface evolve DH cranks - looking to upgrade soon as money starts rolling in
diabolous bars
729 rims on ringle hubs
maxxis minion 2.5's
X-9 drivetrain with shortcage derailer (sp?)

if anyone has any tips on how i can save a few pounds i would greatly appreciate it

IF youve got the dough an thats a big IF you would hit up a boxxer wc , an air shock and maybe lighter cranks truvative cranks with a e 13 light guide thats pretty pricy tho

well i already have the seat that i got on the weekend i might go with some highrollers for racing and keep the minions for just local rides cuz they hook up so damn good, i was also concidering the airshock but i dont know a think about them like if i would have to give up some performance or some travel keep in mind that this isn't a 100% race machine its my only rig at the moment so i dont want to jeapordize strength on anything but i'm still open for suggestions

well first get rid of the 729 (even though they are good they are heavy) and get rid of the diablous bars and race face cranks and get some all mountain bars and Truvative OCT cranks (they are lighter and stronger than any other crank)…

Keep the 729 for normal riding with the minions and get a race wheel set to go with the highrollers you want and convert them to tubeless.

total scam. he put food before beer.

the fox forty doesnt seem that heavy as much bulky they make the bike feel a lot heavier then it is because of its size and dont be fooled by its size fox 40s are not that strong its quite likely you will have problems with the seals and internals id say keep the rims and tires 729s are strong and by swapping for lighter rims your gonna save a tiny amount of weight. o and about the air shock you wont lose and travel or perfomance if anything you will like the airshock more theyre just exspensive
