Kamloops - a jump that went really wrong

Guy is not an idiot I just think people dont' realize how large of scale things are out here. Every weekend I here of one thing like this.

The jump is fine itself, people gotta learn to start poppin things instead of trying to clear it like a dh racer. Way to much speed you could use 3/4s of that and make it into that tranny.

Just think before you do something, especially when it has some serious aftermaths if you don't know what to judge.

It wasn't supposed to be funny, it was simply sarcasim.

The "funniness" level of your comment…wait, that's just retarded to post.

I don't think that is matty, they changed it alot after his crash… it used to be alot easier to over shoot.

i dont like how he got hurt, but i think thats a stupid stunt. He over shot what looks like a 17foot landing, unless he was maching it the jump doesnt seem built right. healing vibes for sure, maybe hell relize his limit.

kamloops is outta hand. hopefully the hits like that are well hidden and out of the way (although that looks pretty visible).

Well it's not in the middle of a trail. It's not something someone could get fooled in any way into hitting by mistake.
As the penalty for screwing up a move gets high…well, it's the riders choice. Genuine mistake sometimes…natural selection at work other times.

I've seen 2 very skilled riders hit that jump multiple times. It's tech in it's own right, that's for damn sure.

Here's a pic of it for some more perspective.

I dont see why theres a problem with the jump itself, its the riders who should know how much speed they are going to need.

You have to be there to see what is really like, it comes from a steep hill that can make you go pretty fast and it is easy to misjudge it as it is pretty big, so the natural reaction is to go fast in order to make it to the tranny, but Steve is right you have to pop it instead of trying to clear it like a DH racer. Too much speed and it will make you land on the flat after being 15-18 feet up in the air, not pretty.

I hope the guy's ok.

You seem to be assuming an aweful lot here. You can tell it's a 17 foot landing from a short vid? The jump doesn't seem to be built right? Maybe he'll realize his limit? WTF is that? You watch a 5 second clip and now you can tell the guy's riding over his ability?

I have never met the guy in the vid, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he knew what he was doing. You don't launch something that big with out having confidence in your riding. There's a lot of riders out there that have a tonne of skill and big balls. Put that together and sometimes guys are going to get hurt.

Hope he's OK and back on the bike soon.
