Why is it that we think our current alignment of skinny vs. baggy is some sort of law of the universe? Why is baggy 'masculine' while skinny is 'feminine' when we have ample examples from the past when the opposite was the case? People have short memories about fashion and when it changes - as it is beginning to with the tight vs. baggy trend (it's coming people) there are those who resist like my grade 11 Algebra teacher who rocked 'fashion' from the 50s until his dying day?
Fashion only exists in relative terms based on a short term perspective - and it's all one big cycle. What I like about the skinny jeans thing is that it wasn't started by the fashion industry - as evidenced by the fact that you can't buy 'men's' jeans in the right size to wear them like the skinny jean crowd wants to.
