Ever wanted to destroy a chairlift?

Winterpark resort in colorado was replacing a chairlift, they gave the manufacture the privlidge of doing some testing on this one. about 5 minutes in it gets interesting when the brakes don't stop it and the loaded chairs go flying off.

they also drop a few trees on it, set it on fire, and see how much force it takes to bend the towers and rip them out of the ground.

im suprised that hasnt hapened yet to the chairs on seymour

oh god the brake failure tests were scary. i'll never be as comfortable on a chairlift again

I don't think there's many scarier than the whitewater chairs. original lift from whistler baby.

I can't say that that exact thought ever popped into my head, but now that it has, that'll be all I can think of whenever I'm on a lift.
