Terrible riding but you look to be having a great time :)
Telling me I'm terrible is not helpful. If you have no constructive criticism or advice, then why bother? Or you just play'n?

i believe we now know how you broke your headset.
but thanks for the video i enjoyed it.
Ha ha. I get it.
Last year I rode that trail once and never went back. It scared the shit out of me. Some of those jumps still scare me a bit but I got of it down. Next year will be better.
Hey some guy posted "The trails not a telephone. Quit hanging up". but it's gone. Thought that was funny.

I'm only kidding although I sympathise with the builders :agree:
I'm not really sure I should be giving advice but I would say hitting all the downslopes and getting comfortable going faster into jumps on Blue Velvet and Crank It Up before bothering with Merchant. Either that or touch your brakes 80% less on Merchant ;)

The difference in size between jumps on Blue Velvet and Dirt Merchant is huge. I get what your saying though.
And you were born shredding weren't you?
fuck ya
I guess the whole mountain was riding that one trail theres like 30 people at the enterance. I wont be surprised at all if we see a hacked up trail before closing. When i ride that trail i notice a lot of people that arent up to skill level and brake a lot before the takeoff to the jumps which creates the chundery brake bumps they get all scared when there rolling up to the lips and bam its crap in no time… Tip if your not cleaning a-line dirt merchant is a no go..
I really liked the video. The go pro hd shoots some really good quality footage. Your riding wasn't the greatest (better than mine), but you seemed to be having a great time riding.
Hey, don't be too hard on the guy. I like the camera angle [HTML_REMOVED] also like the lack of music. I wish more helmet cams had no music [HTML_REMOVED] sounds from the ride. As far as stopping in the middle of the trail, there were alot of people stopped in bad places in that video. Something for us all to remember when biking in the WBP.
Thread killer
poor dirty - a revamp and the berms already look haggard.
you look tense my friend… I can see the death grip from the vid and your breathing is a clear indicator too. Keep rippin as you're faster than 80% of the meat huckers that ride up that hill, but get yourself on a set of tabletop bike park jumps or a skatepark. Ditch a few times and you'll get a lot more comfortable with lips.
Only other thing I can tell you is focus on being relaxed. Any tension at takeoff is either going to make you case or make you ride out a nice nose wheelie landing to faceplant.
the key is to relax and lay off the brakes, speed is your friend, that is what you come up the park for is to go fast, trust your tires and your suspension, stay centered and pump those lips…..

Thanks for the tips guys. I teach judo and the hardest thing to do is get adult learners to relax and flow.
I'm glad I got to ride DM after the buff because once it's punched I get the shit knocked out of me on my little bike. Once the berms start to go my speed drops dramatically. I hope I'm not too much of the problem. Does coming up short cause much of a problem? I thought it was mostly braking in the berms that fucked shit up.
Yeah it's like a vertical landscape setting or something? Looks really good. Much better than any other angle I've seen. What kind of camera is it?
The camera is a GO-PRO HD mounted sideways on the jaw of my helmet. So if you look at the video in its normal angle you'd have to tilt your head 90 degrees. I take the video into Final Cup Pro and create a sequence setting that displays the video in an aspect ratio of 9 x 16 instead of 16 x 9. Then I export the video. It's time consuming but it is much more aesthetically pleasing.
I'm liking the portrait mode a lot, it's more suited to the linear nature of the action.
If anyone uses a regular point and shoot camera to shoot a video in portrait mode, you can use Virtualdub, a decent piece of free video editing software (http://www.virtualdub.org/) to apply a 90 degree filter to rotate the video so you don't have to put your monitor on it's side.
Please let me demonstrate the ride around; really it's no trouble.

I've always found aline the harder trail to ride. When I first started riding the park I found I could clear DM much easier then aline. I think it was because aline has more dj type lips.
Step up looks bigger i wanna go ride it!
