wow. that is truly sick!
i'd feel so bad if i scratched something like that though…
i may just get my 4by powdercoated at some point, just to get rid of the scratches from my bike rack (which is designed for traditional double-diamond mtn bikes)

as a automotive painter i can tell u flat out NO clearcoat operation (regarless) of prep work has the scratch/abrasion resistance of Powdercoating…
but base/clear will always look nicer when NEW…
personaly i dont like powdercoating cuz it dont have enuf gloss..
but from a duaribility standpoint it kicks"wet" paints ASS…
true powder coating is more chip resistant. but it is also hard on the frames because of the high bake temp which is why no bike company will warrenty any repainted bike. There is pros and cons to both. if you dump your bike hard it is going to chip or scrath regardless. nobody who rides has an unmarked bike.you can get some pretty crazy powder coat colors just look at the custom harleys out there. i personally would rather have a scratched bike than a broken bike..

Reading comprehension > you.
Powder coating temps aren't high enough to be an issue.

i am only going on what i have been told by a powder coating compony. they bake at 170 to 220 degrees celsius for 20 to 40 min.another thing is the bike would have to be stripped and etched or it would chip like a bastered. eather way any bike i haved owned has been scrathed to death after a month of riding anyway
