Every year on the same week, my family and I head up to Naramata (10min drive from Penticton) for our super chill vacation. Last year one of the locals showed me this sweet trail up on Arawana hill, so this year we all brought up our bikes to rip it. We drive up the 8km back road to ride the 6km downhill trail. On the very first stunt on the trail is a 8ft drop to a flat landing (all the drops on this trail have flat trannies), I did it last year and it didn't seem too hard so I went for it. I dropped it pretty good, but my feet slipped off the pedals when I landed so I was still rolling doing a kinda superman on the ground. I was still rolling for about 4ft when I hit a root and get bucked over the handlebar. My knee was killing me the whole ride, so all of the shots of me, I'm doing small stuff, and I didn't look at it until I got back to my cabin. It turned out that something went right through my shin guards and made a nice gash right below my knee cap where I could see my bone. I was wearing the Roach leg guards, so the area between the knee protection and the shin protection is quite vulnerable to rocks and roots. It was quite a bummer because I couldn't go in the water for 3 days (because of my stitches) so I got to take pics of people swimming and such and I wanted to hit one of the step ups that I bailed on last year (that I have been thinking about it alot). So now I have to wait another year to hit the drop again; anyway, here are some life style and biking shots. Everybody in the pics are people from the small resort that I stayed at. Enjoy.
