Holy sh*t am I glad to finally have the frame built up. It rides sooooo well. Here's a few shots of the current setup. Thinking I might go with a Vanilla RLC or PIKE Race in the near future.

Check out the user's photo album for the rest….

Looks pretty intensly amazing. I love it. I always wondered too, what makes the sovereign so much different than the DOC? They look pretty much the same.

the sovereign is reynold, it's lighter, and probably slight change in geometry.
I'd personally get the sovereign because i love reynold(team trials) but it's way too expensive.

The Sovereign has a steeper head angle and the rest of the geometry is slightly different as well. The tubing is the main difference. Hand welded and made from a custom drawn Reynolds 853 and 725 tubeset. It weighs just over a pound less than the DOC.

It is designed to a perfect all-round bike. It can be set up with a 6 inch fork without messing with the head angle but is equally suited to be used for cross country or jumping/street.

The DOC is a nice frame (a buddy of mine has a red one he just posted in this forum), but it is not easily confused with the Sovereign when ridden or seen in person. Trust me.

As for the price, yeah, it is more than the DOC. But I got mine for far less than you would think though. If you're interested give Darksyde a call. They were excellent to deal with.

that frame is so nice. 853 is prettymuch the most sensual tubing you can make a bike out of.

I had a chance to ride it again today. My God…..it feels so nice. With a five inch fork the geometry feels spot on for just about everything. At speed and in the air it feels totally at home. The rear flexes just the right amount.

Easily the best decision I've made in quite some time. Easily.
