"But, the FDA recently said that CPAP and BiPAP machines could be used as an alternative to traditional life-support ventilators as hospitals around the country face shortages of the larger, more complex and costly ventilators.

Musk said in a tweet on Thursday that "all hospitals were given exact specifications" of the machines, and that "all confirmed they would be critical." He added that delivery of more intensive ventilators made by Medtronic would be delivered in New York City Thursday evening. "

Is one not allowed to change your mind?

Seems like these days you are held accountable to what has been said in the past no matter how you think or act in the present.

Nice pivot.  So back to the respirators... the response that they were not needed was dumb, yes?

Potatos. Easiest of them all. And quite resistant to pests. You can store them quite easily as well. Carrots might be tricky to store. Broccoli as well.

And it all depends a lot on your soil, the fertilizer (can you get horse manure? That is awesome. Highly recommended!).

Experiment.

Yes. The stories are heartbreaking, and in a certain way it is comforting to read Nd see that quite a lot of people are not mindless asshats.

I am a bit torn. On the one hand I fear that Big Money will continue with its incredibly stupid and beyond-evil way of destroying Mother Earth and humanity after this is over. 1984...just different. Not to mention various conspiracy theories talking about tightening control etc.

Then...a part of me thinks that a change, a shift of perspective in quite a few people is happening. The small scale community and care. The idea that the current way is wrong. That we can do better. Need to do better.

I think we will see. Sooner or later.

Tomatoes don't last long, but in the summer if you have tomatoes and a rotating crop of lettuce you are eating fresh salad every night.  I have tomatoes, lettuce, and peppers in a raised garden on my deck where I get the most sun.  I use totes and built a wood frame to hold them.  You need holes in them for drainage.  Then I have potatoes, carrots, peas and beans in the back yard garden where I don't get much sun.  Squash grows like a weed down there too, but it takes over the whole garden so I am skipping them this year.  If you have room, grow them somewhere else.  Pumpkins are the same.  Since my daughter is not in school that will be part of her learning program.

If you haven't read Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine yet, then jump on it, stat.  E-book download price has been slashed, because the author wants everyone to read it.

https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-shock-doctrine

Synopsis: 'Big Money' aka wealthy capitalists use economic shocks as a way to invoke policy changes that favour making more money, with less oversight, at the expense of environment, the poor, and civil rights.

Man I can't wait to have the space to grow some fresh veg & berries. My parents have an acreage with a small orchard and a big garden & greenhouse, it's just the best.

I have read it in parts many moons ago, could not really stand the atrocities in one go, kind of like other books. The older I get, you know.

Canada is doing a great job all things considered.  Hell, I found myself saying "Fuck Ya Doug Ford, you're right" for the first time (and probably last time) of my life.

(Jason Kenney is still Kenneying, but only at 50%, so that's just fucking super for that little guy)

LMAO.  I know.  I keep seeing Ford up there actually caring for people and making sound decisions.  I am sure this will pass soon.
