Watching Fox News is done for comedy relief.  It's so asinine that it's head-shaking funny.

And they should threaten criminals with a new type of sentence; break the law and you'll have to marry Laura Ingram.  That'll stop all crime.

Everyone should have the mindset of "Cautious but not Anxious", just follow the WHO guidelines and you'll be fine. Another guideline is to make personal disinfection in your own area to get rid of this virus. You can use a reliable pressure washer https://gardeningfacts.org/best-pressure-washer/electric-pressure-washer-reviews/ to clean it easier and faster.

If one big hurricane hit Florida right now the global IQ would go up a point.

" Learning from the experiences of SARS in 2003, Taiwan was ready when the outbreak in Wuhan occurred. After the first notifications at the end of 2019, Taipei swiftly deployed a combination of measures to identify and contain the virus, including the use of big data to help contain potential cases.

It also made use of technology, integrating the national health insurance database with its immigration and customs database. By merging databases they could collect information on every citizen’s 14-day travel history and ask those who visited high-risk areas to self-isolate. Mobile phones were tracked to ensure people stayed at home. Those who had not been to a high-risk area received a SMS to enable faster immigration clearance when traveling.

These measures were strict but combined with a high degree of transparency from the government. Daily press briefings were given and regular public service broadcasts were issued from the President’s office, and simple messaging about hand washing, face masks and the dangers of hoarding were effective.

Perhaps not all of these actions would be culturally appropriate for a European or American audience, but there can be little doubt that it has saved lives and is helping to prevent widespread panic. We should look to Taiwan and try to learn lessons for both the current outbreak, and for the inevitable outbreaks of disease that are now characteristic of our globalized world."

"In Taiwan, diverse political parties were willing to work together to produce an immediate response to the danger,” said Brook, also of the nonprofit RAND Corporation. “Transparency was critical and frequent communication to the public from a trusted official was paramount to reducing public panic"

Shit is getting weird out there. Out for a ride this morning all seems somewhat normal. Went to the store to get a few things, people are super bummed. Fuck hope this gets sorted sooner than later.

At least the weather has been fantastic for those who want to get outside (at a safe distance from others), especially kids on Spring break.  If this was in the middle of winter with constant rain, everyone would be going bonkers.

People are scared, and if there is anything that brings out the worst of us, it's that.

I don't have definitive answers, but I try to be extra friendly during these times.

Social distancing in east van seems to be degrading into groups of drunk people wandering around..shit is definitely getting weird. The more heavy handed rules seem just around the corner..

I tend to agree with you.

Freedom is a great thing, but is sucks that we have to deal with shitheads who can't appreciate how awesome it is to have it.

I prefer education versus welding people into homes.

If we keep voting for incumbents I might be swayed into your line of thinking, but I hope I'll have elevated into the donor class by then, at which point I'll been totally keen on welding people into their homes.
