All three countries have been reluctant to share data from clinical trials, which makes it impossible to know how effective they are in preventing the spread of the pandemic and the risks of side-effects.

Ever wonder if maybe it's more of a pr move than anything, or a backhanded attempt to curry favour?

It's the thought that matters. ffs at least they offered. Unlike the Brits, 'yurpeons and yanks who want it all, and all for themselves or the Canadians who went off like whiney little bitches all just because they had to take a little time out.

If Canada was as good as we think it is, we'd have our own production capabilities. Agreeable?

I believe we did have our own labs and facilities at one point but it was one of the things that Harper cut. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

It was Mulroney that sold off Connaught Labs.

If Canada was as good as we WANT is to be.  Definitely.  Our capability was scrapped ages ago and the threats of pandemics have been increasing for years.  Liberals and Conservatives share the blame on this one.

So has Canada, but that will be after we are vaccinated.  So exactly the same except we are paying full price for the vaccines since we had to buy them.

Thanks, I knew it was one of them. Was it not considered one of the top labs in North America?

"What makes our predicament today particularly galling is that Ottawa invests roughly $1 billion a year to fund medical research by scientists at Canadian universities — without any control over the results, according to Dr. Joel Lexchin, professor emeritus at York University’s School of Health Policy and Management.

The scientists are permitted to take out patents on the products they develop (with our money), and then sell them to pharmaceutical manufacturers, who sell the products to the public — often at great profit."

I figgered we were doing poorly, just didn't think it was this bad.

Why is Truedick allowing plane loads of covid infected Haitians to land in Canada?

Meanwhile, New Zealanders are going to concerts.

For having purchased so many doses of the vaccine we've managed to vaccinate basically nobody. It's maddening.

Due to indigenous protests, the virus has reppeared.
