I can see folks having troubles living in a new way. Some adapt better than others. I too have issues,

You think you got issues?

If that were my offspring I would be so proud. In the same way I feel pride after a triple coiler with a DQ twist.

Think no matter what happens in the next few months. Countries are going to open up anyways and just live with what happens. The world economy can't survive in this state.

I noticed that yesterday Russia had a 25% increase in reported cases. We'll see what happens in the next couple of days, but they could be in for a large exponential increase.

Edit: their increase today is 17% over yesterday.

In the next day or so Russia will be in the top five countries for number of COVID cases.

This chart from the BBC sums it up for me. Gotta live with the virus, it's not going anywhere and neither is the human race. Well not until Trump pushes the big red button.

That’s based on data generated while there were serious restrictions on people’s movements, and on the health care system being able to treat everyone who needs it.

The picture may be much different once people (and the virus) can move more, particularly if the medical system can’t keep up.

This thing hasn’t punished us badly here, but it’s clear from other areas that it easily could hammer us.

A reverse image search shows that the graph is not from the BBC, but from a site called off-guardian.org.  It is a site (and I am not making this up) comprised of "writers" that were kicked off the Guardian's comments section.  I can't comment on the content of the site, but they seem to be very against any lockdown measures and it isn't the BBC.

The graph destroys its own point. Chance of dying of COVID is in addition to all other background risks of dying. All those other risks don't disappear just because COVID is the meanest kid on the block. So the graph clearly shows that adding COVID to the mix doubles one's chance of dying.

I wondered about that myself...

No matter what, that chart needs some biiiiiiiiig margin of error bars.

The Guardian is pro lockdown but yeah probably bots.

Yeah I also read the other BBC story. Its all still super low risk in general.

I for one am glad that BC is opening up. Keep away from those you know are compromised, keep ya distance, cover your dam face when coughing or sneezing and keep on keeping on. If you want to lock yourselves up for a couple of years then that's up to the individual.

I'm seriously more worried about what can happen between US and China. Both leaders are pricks.
