The Tigers seem loaded but the Giants have momentum on their side. Tiger's Verlander is tough to beat.

I was just in San Fran and it seems like everybody had a giants cap on. I could certainly feel the playoff fever.

I'll be pruning any comments on this thread like "baseball is boring" etc.

I've been a Giants fan since childhood, and since the 2010 series win, these past couple of years have been great seasons to be a Giants fan. I manage a couple of games a year at AT[HTML_REMOVED]T, and subscribe to MLB.TV.

Both of the NLDS this year were epic. Great baseball, great stories. The 'Cards being down to the Nats, and of course El Gigantes coming back twice and being 6-0 in elimination games.

They are in tough against Detroit's starting rotation, as with the rest they can put Verlander on the mound for games 1, 4 and 7 if necessary. Zito has been great, as has Cain, but The Freak has mechanical problems that seem to originate in his head, and coming in from the pen seems to solve this. However, if it were me, I would start Lincecum in Game 2. He's won two Cy Youngs, and you have to believe that someone like that would step up for the main event.

Go Giants!

So you think Lincecum should start? He's been a beast in relief, maybe they'll keep him there. Personally, I think they should start him.

So do I, but there's no way I'd second guess Bochy at this point LOL. Looks like he's going with Zito, Baumgartner, Vogelsong, Cain.

The Freak only needs 15 pitches to warm up, and he's good to go on short rest. Makes sense if Baumgartner gets lit.

Giants are confident, and I think that's the difference. Verlander is a great pitcher, but like a goalie in ice hockey (if I remember LOL), they can seem unbeatable until you put one past them, and then it's like "Oh!"

The Panda's dinger I think upped the whole bench.

I was in Palo Alto on Monday. Definitely some excited folks around… was a fun vibe.

But it's too bad that baseball is just so damn dull.

I give you that for regular season baseball but playoff baseball is a whole different game.

Maybe you just need to learn a bit more about the game.
