My neighbour got ticketed for this in Williams Lake.
On top of he the ticket he had to pay for a vehicle inspection once his doors were back on and then take the report to the Burnaby RCMP office.
It was the doors specifically.
I'm sure up next for this upstanding officer is arresting people for water sking at night, which is a punishable office according to s.250(2) of the criminal code
funny story (I think)
I saw my dad's van idling in front of Swiss Chalet (14 years ago). So I pulled into the parking and hopped into his empty van and drove it around the corner (and then safely removed the keys and locked the doors). Then I sat quietly in my car which was new, so he didn't really recognize it.
Hilarity ensured when he came out and nearly dropped his chicken on the ground.
Never again did he do that.
Although the key did break off in his ignition and he never got that fixed either. Just turn it and go.
Very funny! Also funny (and somewhat alarming) is that somebody has gone to Swiss Chalet.

I thought the same thing when I read that. No where does it say the doors have to be locked.
