wife would like to start shopping for a new car soon. since only two of four kids either have their own car or have left the nest, we are losing the mini van even though it's served us well for the last ten years. we think a crossover will fit the bill but with so many to choose from, where to start? you guys with crossovers what do you drive and what do you think?

Whats the budget?  Whats it going to be used for?  Any brand loyalty or biases?  Crossovers are probably one of the biggest markets right now, so there is lots of choice.

My first gen Forester is awesome.  Probably not what you're looking for though, but still, awesome and a crossover. Overall I'm with syncro.

check out the ford escape in that case, they've done really well with it.

you might be able to score a convertible Porsche on BAT for that kind of money too...

Hard to find a decent, new CUV/SUV for under $30K.  Add $5K more and a lot more options open up.

the whole reason for the popularity of the SUV/CUV is for people to distance themselves from being the minivan person

for most people the mini van makes WAY more sense, more comfortable more room more stable on the highway in the snow

but you will never convince any soccer mom she already has a good vehical
