well, the Octopus was right I guess. A deserved victory for Spain, they dominated. Look for Germany to be a force in 2014 with all those young kids maturing.

Should be a wicked final.

Losers don't win.

How do you say "catenaccio" in German?

When I created the poll, I forgot to make it expire before the tournament started. So while others will likely keep voting, here are the votes as of now for future glory.

I propose a rep explosion(the positive kind) for those that chose correctly.

Spain:

Yes, voting after the tournament started is a no-no!

My family name starts with Van, so I'm very Dutch. My grandma occasionally lapses into Dutch now that she's getting older.

Hup Holland!

I watched yesterdays game at Local in Kits, across from the beach. Cool spot, but the fans seemed to be a bit subdued. I had just returned from a few days in small-town Ontario, and was surprised how hard people dress up to go the pub in Vancouver!

Spain all the way. On paper, they are the best team in the tournament and they are starting to play like one. Germany was all over Argentina but couldn't come up with any sustainable attack in today's game. Granted, Mueller not playing probably hurt their attack quite a bit.

And unfortunately the "Germans" have to deal with such things for ever I think. But I am ok with that, more or less, both my parents grew up in Nazi Germany, but still I think that Germany has changed a great deal….whatever.

A lot of people don't know how embedded Franco was in Hitlers pocket, even though
Hitler didn't really like Franco who had his own "camps".

Anyways, it seems that Spain is the better team - but this does not mean anything….in the end, the team who scored more is the winner - and not necessarily the better one. :)

Was there any doubt?
