Which Universe: Gravitational or Electrical?

So Syncro wants me to embrace different ideas because my type of science is so far off base that it basically requires faith. Lets flip that right the fuck around with this:

Electricity: not a theory.

Magnetism: not a theory.

Electro-Magnetism: not a theory.

Gravity: still a 200 year old theory.

Discuss. Preferably without links and quoting people that have died before you were born.

It's electromagnetism, and it is a theory.

Newton's laws of gravitation are 350 years old.  Einstein's theory is 105 years old.

A scientific theory is an explanation of an aspect of the natural world that can be repeatedly tested and verified in accordance with the scientific method, using accepted protocols of observation, measurement, and evaluation of results.

Both theories of electromagnetism and gravity past muster.

You forgot quantum theory.

WTF is “my type of science”?

I think it was syncro's reply to him in the Covid thread which made Shogun Marcus reasses his understanding of how science works, hence HIS type of science.

Pretty sure if your type of science requires faith it’s not science.

Shogun.  If you’re interested in skeptical thought / science current events, maybe try out this podcast.

https://www.theskepticsguide.org

The science current events section at the start is quite good (the rest is less interesting) and the podcast hosts are well accredited in their fields.  They are big on evidence based skeptical thought and challenging media takes on science news. They also have an active forum if you take exception to any of their takes on the news.  They generally try and steer clear of politics.

Thanks for that link, in today's day and age of too little time for mentally active and challenging procrastination, this forum still delivers. Awesome.

What are we discussing?  Doesn't electromagnetic theory cover the first 3?

Pythag proves EM is not a theory without going into it (electricity and magnets = yous wrong old man). Gravity and relativity both require quantum mechanics and computers to solve or prove them. Want know why something falls when it drops? Because most likely its heavier than air and doesnt have wings to fly.

Gravity doesn't require computers to sort it out. In high school physics you do this experiment with a timer and objects of various shapes and weight that helps you figure how gravity works and the role air has to play. The same reasoning explains why objects that respond to gravity near the surface of the earth present differently in space. You don't need to believe me, but this information has been known for quite some time.

Don't know what a Pythag is.

Quantum mechanics and GR were proven before computers existed.

You really need to stay away from those Flat Earthers websites and YouTube channels.
