Not sure where your tastes run, but Pear Tree in north Burnaby is well worth a look. If you limit the wine and appetizers, you can keep it under a hun.

Grub on Main favorite place to take my GF. Fantastic food.

Boathouse or The Sandbar please they have great locations but the food is so so.

I don't know if it is still open but the Banana leaf on Broadway or on Denman have marvelous food.
