After duty there are no savings when importing beer from the us.

The met has some good drink specials and some interesting characters.

The West Hotel has 2.75 pints. I think the pitchers are 9, but I don't really remember.

Step one: Board ferry to Nanaimo (Departure Bay for a short ride, Duke Point for a longer one)

Step two: Immediately pedal to the Longwood Brew Pub and order whatever beer is on special.

Step three: ???

Step four: Profit!

Weizenbock was a personal favorite when I used to go there. Good food as well.

Why slag free swag?

or in Van St. Augustine's

Pat's Pub is definitely bike friendly, can accommodate up to 50 bikes. Just watch the crackheads perusing your gear if you really do have that much in there. I always freelock my bike inside anyway. Beer is reasonably cheap, not sure when the specials are but the regular pints are under 4 bucks.

It's not in Vancouver, but last yr I had a flight out of Bellingham, got across the border with lots of time to spare so I stopped at a pub just a few blocks south of the b'ham airport. I believe it was called Coconut Grove.

Anyways they had $5 pitchers and $5 burger/fries. Not a special or anything, this was just the regular price. Almost worth the drive when you can get 2 pitchers and meal in you, plus tax and tip, for less than $20.

This. Alibi is good but always busy… at least when I try to go. Malones downtown also has a great selection.

If you are looking for straight up cheap and terrible, Gargoyles on Broadway does $3 pints.

this is a problem, yes. i think i liked it better before the craft beer thing caught on mainstream. always a seat at the bar [HTML_REMOVED] nigel wasn't too busy for a beer geek out session. still, stoked on his success. alibi has come a long way since he took the reigns.
