Call them up and complain about the price increases. I got a short term discount out of it.

No doubt. We hear so much bullshit about people around the world not having access to clean water or dying of treatable diseases…but I want my kids to fight for cheap, fast interwebs.

Our rate on the January 2014 invoice was 47$, February was 52$, and now November is 57$
21 % increase within 10 months is NOT ok.

Previous to 2014, it was:
39$ for dec 2011,
42$ for July 2012
47$ for march 2013.

bundle your cell and internet onto the same name and get a $5/month discount. We just changed her cell to my name to bundle with internet because they dropped the discount after my work took over my cell.

i wish someone would just offer a bottom line, good value, no term flat rate. fuck all these 6mo 1/2 price contracts, 'freebie' hardware, etc. if it weren't for the hassle, i'd oscillate between telus [HTML_REMOVED] shaw, terminating at the regular price bump. curious how long you could pull that off…

My roommate and I used to do that religiously. I'd sign up on Shaw, cancel once cheap intro period over. Then he'd sign up on Telus. Cancel. I'd sign up on Telus. Cancel. He'd sign up on Shaw. Worked great on a two year cycle of 6-mo discounts, except the roommate couldn't say no whenever one would call us and offer free cable - threw our timing off if he also got us locked into a term. I can't be bothered to do this anymore just to save a few $$.

Til recently I had Time Warner, month to month and they kept raising the rates every few months. $40 a couple years ago up to $64 most recent bill. Service was decent though, not super fast but good enough. Now I am locked in at my new place with another company. Price is a bit better but the speed sucks. Every test says 50MB which is what it should be yet I can't stream any video and most sites take a minute or so to load. Will be having a chat with internet co soon….

Ive been doing this for years. As soon as it goes up to regular price, see ya. I don't find it to be a much of a hassle. Once every 6 months make a short phone call and plan to be home for a couple hours one evening after work.

Both of our cell phones are already bundled together in a "business" package. The three year term on it is up at the end of the month so we'll see what the bill does when the promo runs out.

We might be able to save by locking into a new contract on phones and internet together.

I thought Telus only did term contracts, usually 2 or 3 year.
