:)

This is exactly my first car. Awesome machine. Couldn't kill it.

Then a 64 Galaxy 500. Same as this. 5000 pounds of pimpness

How long ago did you guys own those cars?

Because right there are three of my favorite Ford's. Eff the Mustang, I'll take that GTA anyday.
Wow!

It was a long, long time ago.

I went to the dealer in PG and Tex the salesman came out. I said I was looking for a used car, and he showed me some cars around $1500. I then told him "way too much money", and he said "oh - you want a USED car".

$250 plus $120 for a year's insurance, and I was out of there.

My next car, but in canary yellow:

I've told the Wife this many times….if I ever went to actually buy a classic, I'd pass on the Mustang for one of the Fairlane styles…just to be a little different.

Not very long. I ran through a lot of cars back then (70's). That's not my GTA in the pic…mine was the same but with a red stripe instead of white. I paid $2000 for it. The body was perfect but the motor was pushing oil. I had the engine rebuilt and ran it for a couple of years maybe. Sold it and bought a van for hauling dirt bikes and Surrey girls.

The 64 Galaxy was pretty much indestructible. I knew a guy who had eight of them. He used them for demolition derbies.

77 Olds Cutlas, musta been painted with a roller.
I macco'd it green with tan interior and juiced it.
Three pumps, eight batteries. I got three feet under the front wheels doing 80k down pk backroads! good times, good times.

Later stripped it and sold it to my friends mom.

I can jump and turn my bars.

1987 Oldsmobile 98 with vinyl roof and seats so big and soft a lazy boy recliner would get jealous. Would have been the perfect car of I was 87 and retired.

That was a killer car, man.
You practically lived at my place that summer, spilling hydraulic fluid, and drinking my Crown!

Good times though.
Damn good times.

Ford built just enough of those to make them qualify as street legal (I think they needed to build 500)for a class in drag racing with a SOHC 427

They knew you were going to be racing so to save weight the heater was NOT uninstaled but technicaly it was part of the standard equipment cuz it came in a cardboard box on the front seat

But if I did get an old Mustang…67/68 Coupes are affordable and I'd outfit it like this. (minus the decals)
