What Am I Supposed To Do?

Ok, so i was up at whistler last week and i fell hard on crabapple hits. I ended up wiht 10 stiches in my knee and a badly sprained legiment. Now my parents and other people in my family do not want to let me bike anymore because that accident could have been alot worse that it was. They dont want me to seriously hurt myself and screw up the rest of my life over a sport. What am i supposed to do? how can i get them to be ok with me biking again. I love biking theres nothing like the feeling of being out here in nature having a good time on my bike, Im sure most of you have this same feeling. I'm just stuck because i really dont want to give up something that i love that much but my family is holding together pretty strong and saying its to dangerous. anyway sorry for the long post i just dont know what im supposed to do. Does anyone have any ideas or been in a situation like this before?? Thanks everyone:(

^^^^ Yeah. Also try and convince them that it was just bad luck that made it happen. You fell a wierd way and it could have happened anywhere. It worked on mine.

Shit happens, you could get killed tomorrow by a drunk driver, I know people who have skiped on sidewalks and broken ankles. Just gotta live life, have fun and let your parents know that you are passionate about biking…..

I'm assuming that he was made fun of?

I belive that u just gotta let yourself heal first and around then they should be a bit more relaxed about you and biking. Then u attack them and tell them that you have met many new people, gained lots of self confidense and learned lots about yourself and it would be bad for you to stop now.

"don't bike you could get hurt"
you: "haha yea whatever. I'm gonna go riding."
You leave, and go riding.

I've figured out that if you do something enough, the people who don't like you doing it will eventually get used to it and not bother complaining anymore.
