Some of the individual States have some strict gun laws, more so than Canada as a whole (then there's others like Arizona where anything goes). However, it is too little too late. Washington just passed a law that if you sell a handgun to another person, then that person needs a background check as well (like we do up here - must be to a licenced owner). Well, they are freaking that this is against their bloody Ammendment blah blah - but this has always been their biggest issue - legal guns getting sold to bad people. Our laws prevent this from happening up here.

Dude. Did we just agree on something? On the Internet? We gotta wrap this shit up, patent it and make our millions.

When the ship starts to sink, the first to leave are the rats.

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

I'm voting Green Party. They need to gain more seats, get more say, and show the party in power that there is a pushback against relaxing environmental regulations.

I think getting out while he was on top was a smart move for Baird and I betcha he already has something lined up

The cons are full of neo conservative right wing religious nut jobs, jason kenny scares me almost as much as harper does and if you wana see Steve's vision for Canada just look south

do we need to chuck the 1st past the post method of electing MP's ?

"However, Fife reports that Baird is currently in a position to collect a $100,000-plus pension when he reaches 55 years of age. Under new MP pension rules, if Baird had sought re-election again this year, he wouldn’t be able to collect that sum until age 65."

He is 45 now so another 10 years and buddy will be collecting 100k per year

It's mostly about the $$$. He's on top, has great international connections, has built relationships worldwide… fantastic time for him to hit the private sector and cash in. Although nowhere near in Hillary's league, she collects nearly $300,000 in fees for a private speech. If Baird collected 1/10 of that, he'd be doing great. Odds are, he's going to a law firm.

Also, not a great secret but Baird (and Jason Kenny) is gay. Think that he realizes that he has hit his ceiling in politics in the Conservative party. Although it would be really cool for the Conservatives to be the first party to run a gay candidate for PM, it's not a realistic option.

I tried using this one with my boss when I had to forecast my budget this year, it didn't work for him. Guess it only works for running a country.

Do I need to google this to see what the context was or should I take your word for it that this is all he said?

It makes for a good talking point, and that's all that matters.
