1. Can I run my macbook with the lid closed?

2. What's the best program to download single songs?

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.

they also call me "balloon"

Do you not have an option of what the laptop does when you close the lid? Like hibernate, sleep, etc.?

there should be a display mode for using a monitor as the main screen and running the comp closed, if you wanted to run it closed for music or something i imagine there would be a way but i dont know what it would be, on my powerbook the comp only goes to sleep when the little switches are pulled down magnetically so you could like put a sheet of paper between screen and keyboard and turn the display brightness all the way down maybe if the mac books are the same.

Yo, lowering the lid puts the mac to sleep and limewire is what I use to grab songs.

You can all go to hell. I'll be joining you shortly and I'm bringing beer and cheetos.

If you are using it with a separate keyboard/mouse/display you:
1)connect keyboard and mouse
2)close lid, putting it to sleep
3) connect and turn on monitor
4) wake it with the external keyboard

If you just want to run it while DL-ing just turn the display all the way down with F1 and close the lid most of the way. I don't think there's a way to run it with the lid closed otherwise.

I wouldn't recommend running the laptop with the screen closed, heat dissipates through the keyboard, and with the screen closed you just trap in the heat.

if your worried at all, about heat with it closed, and whatnot, just download istat pro, and install the intel heat thingie.. it'll tell you more information about your system that you need to know, but you can then keep an eye on the temps.

50 is pretty good… My buddies centrino runs at 100… That's just ridiculous.

That is fairly hot. Scary thing is that GPUs will run hotter.

Core2Duo processors run much cooler than previous Intel processors.

Nelson, if you want to use your laptop as a portable MP3 player, that probably won't work as the MacBook behaves differently when on battery or AC power. Otherwise, if you're just wanting to close the lid while plugged into the TV, it can be done.
