My new place needs (I want) a wall mounted tv, normally I'd just google this shit but I trust you guys a bit more than what's coming out of that turdhole these days.

I need y'all to tell me which wall mount to order online, since there's not really any stores to get one.

Also if y'all have recommendations for a 55 inch TV I'm all ears. Was thinking a Samsung since that's what I know, or LG I don't really wanna hang my 120 pound plasma.

Ha Ha! Made you look.

I got the Sanus full motion wall mount from Costco.  It does what it's supposed to do.  I believe you can order from Costco.ca.

LG or Sony OLED if you have a room that isn't bright. Samsung QLED is good too and some models work great in bright rooms.

As for wall mounts, you need to know what type of mounting option the TV supports.

Majority of screens use the VESA standard for mounting.  You’ll need to see which particular VESA size yours has.  Either find the screen specs online, or measure at the back.

https://www.oneforall.com/explore/vesa-mounting-standard-explained#/step-1

Then you’ll need to know the weight of the screen and how much articulation on the hanger you want.

If you’re looking to get a new screen, Switch is on point.  Visions.ca had the best prices/selection when I was buying last year.  Should be decent deals right now as new models coming out.

My 43" LG is nice and all but WebOS is kind of shite.

I got LG OLED screens and they actually made me say, "Holy shit" when I first turned them on.

I bought this wall mount.. it's super flat.

Yah, I'm in the LG OLED camp too. Super crisp display, and if you are watching something with a lot of dark scenes, nothing else beats it. Super thin and light, so you don't have a lot to worry about when wall mounting.

Yeah. My plasma is like 13 years old and 120 lbs.. it's going to go downstairs in the rec room, I didn't wanna even try and mounting it on the wall.

You'd be surprised how much weight you can hang off a wall with the right hardware. In my storage room one wall has Rubbermaid Twintrack uprights with twin track brackets. Each bracket is rated to support 500lbs and over the four shelves that I have there is probably over 1000lbs of gear sitting on the shelves. I have the uprights screw into the wall stud with #10 4" screw and it's bomber. IMHO the Twintrack stuff is the best way to go for shelving in terms of strength, flexibility of design and ease of use.
