Absolutely. Trump takes both sides on every issue. That's sort of his thing. He understands that as long as he has soundbites of him taking position A, and position B on every issue, that Fox News, Newsmax and OAN will play whichever position is deemed more favorable on a loop.

As well put as that was, the only issue with it is Trump approved the vaccine and touted it pre production. I hope we can agree, for him, walking back from something like thee Corona vaccine would be next to impossible in the future.
Trump pressured the FDA to approve hydroxychloroquine for emergency use but then they reversed that. He tried yet again with convalescent plasma. Sooner or later something will stick and he'll take the credit. Typical tyrant behavior.

It's 100% political. Trump didn't do shit to slow down COVID and puts all his eggs in the vaccine basket assuming he would be president when they rolled out and could take credit for it all. Which in itself is ridiculous since the vaccine was made all over the world and he had nothing to do with their hard work. Operation Warp Speed was a good investment to help the process, but it would be like investing in Apple and taking credit for the development of the iPhone. Since Trump lost as the vaccine was coming online and it was now Biden telling people to get the shot Trump's supporters turned against it as they had been trained to do. There is zero need for consistency in a cult.
