I have been on record since day one saying that proving that Trump colluded was a wild goose chase and making this a major pillar on which all Trump's faults lie is a trick by the right to distract us all and give Trump something to crow about after the Mueller investigation... and that is exactly what he did.  Why do you keep falling for it?   I can't say whether or not Kilimnik is guilty, but if he was working for the Kremlin how hard would it be for them to issue him a regular passport?  Do you really think that is proof?  And Rick Gates as his back up?  These guys are all shady as hell and worked for Manafort.

Anyway, I have fallen into your trap and expect that you will not reply.

I probably posted in this thread already but in the book " The room where it happened " by John Boulton

I read all 500 odd pages to find the smoking gun but there wasn't one

it was just a whole lot of Boulton talking about  Trump being inept

He is inept, but he has been shady his whole life and knows how to always maintain deniability.  He has fall guys and talks in code.  I still think Putin has something on him but I knew collusion was impossible to prove when he kept saying "no collusion" and "collusion delusion".  He knows how to manipulate people's attention and the only reason he would want people talking about collusion is if he was confident they couldn't prove it.  He was totally successful too because the Mueller report laid out his obstruction of justice and how the Russians helped his campaign but all he had to say was "Told ya, no collusion".

Polychroniou: Do you believe that Trump is finished as a political figure? Or, to put the question slightly differently, was the Washington putsch of January 6, 2021, the beginning the end of the rise of Trumpism?

Chomsky: Far from it. Whether Trump will survive the error of judgment that turned major power centers against him is unclear. He may well do so. The voting base of the Party seems to remain loyal, maybe with even greater fervor after this attack on their hero by the “deep state.” Local officials too. He was cheered on his visit to the Republican National Committee the day after the Capitol riot. He has other resources. Whatever the fate of the individual, Trumpism will not be so easily contained…We are not out of the woods, by far.

But it sooooo fascinating staring into the abyss! Those people are going down, and it gonna' be a bloodbath.

Just think, most of you are only a few miles from the border. You think the US/Mex border has a refugee crisis? Whoa.....

I agree with what you're saying. It's a tire fire.

The US is in a very dangerous position currently with regards to democracy, but start a thread about it if you want to discuss. And yes, Trump is both a symptom and a cause, but the current iteration of the Republican party, the propanda networks that enable it, and facebook/twitter echo chambers are equal partners in this.
