We have seen it over and over again that he just skates, but there are so many cases on the go right now and his presidential immunity is finally gone. The tax returns are part of an investigation into tax, insurance and bank fraud. If you think he is likely guilty, and I do, I just can't see him getting off scott free. And this is just one case.
Junior doesn't have whatever his dad has. I think there are other creatures within the GOP more likely to be the next nominee.
Trump's biggest mistake was becoming president. It shone a light on all of his misdeeds. He'd still be getting away with the same shady shit today had he been able to resist the spotlight that came with presidency.

Yup. he could still be paying off the right people around New York for his schemes and partying with underage Russian girls on a yacht somewhere but he couldn't help himself.
Maybe he didnt really expect to win ? Trump once said he missed driving, apparently the POTUS doesn't drive , the guys in the sunglasses/dark suits with the earpieces do it all

Apparently he's planning on announcing his 2024 run during his speech. I guess he figures that if he announces his candidacy early enough, they won't dig too deeply into any criminal because of the optics.
I can't believe how quickly they are doubling down on this clown show. McConnell is hedging his bets still, but Lindsay Graham's head is so far up Trump's ass he can smell the cheeseburgers. Either the GOP will go down in a flaming wreck or 4 years from now they will have a witch trial for AOC to see if she floats and we will all be drinking Brawndo. 50/50
