Nah, NPR is slightly left of center and highly factually accurate, WSJ is to the right, but not far enough to completely lose the plot. BBC is nice for the non-american perspective. I did my due diligence before subscribing to these news sources.

Perhaps we all should.

Thanks for the list Tungsten, enjoyed perusing something different. Generally rated highly accurate. I would use them personally, but too inflammatory for me.

Sure I get the news, but I also feel like punching a misinformed conservative afterwards. That could be bad at my work-place. On Friday a co-worker happily regurgitated the morning "news" that Kavanaugh had passed 3 lie detector tests. 🔥

Apparently conservative talk radio can be even less accurate than Fox, no small feat.

I do, I just dont rely on anything actually let alone commit to one. I will say what I do like about the echo chamber: you will have other people who'll randomly tie things together or basically collab real time. US MSM News only does that to push an agenda and to form or sway public opinion. To sum up my position again: I dont like news, I like info.

Got a theory: Fox, info wars, etc give people easy to swallow short sound bites that play off of prejudices. I noticed this at my work one day when 3 separate (conservative) co-workers repeated the same odd Fox news bite to me.

As long as you don't tune into any legitimate news sources, ever, this misdirected narrative becomes...reality. Angry reality that you need to vent about.

It's like eating ice cream sundaes every night for dinner, after a while you don't even want to hear about fucking broccoli.

Fox is notorious for taking snippets and cutting them off, completely destroying what people said.  Something like "If the President was absolutely right, then the facts would show that" to "...the President was absolutely right...".

But if you watch Fox News at noon, it's almost 180 degrees from the evening stuff.

All y'all should try reading the news sometimes. Not only is it searchable that way but you dont come across as much edits or the evil spin.

believe none of what you hear, some of what you read and only half of what you see. I think that's how it goes.

I think the trick is to constantly evaluate your news.  It is easy to do in hindsight.  Do you still believe most of what you did a year ago... or two years ago?  Do the events of today make sense based on what you believe and what you used to believe is the most likely truth?  This skill is going to be more and more critical going forward.  I agree with Reductimat, assume it is all full of bias, but pay attention to the sources that hold up over time.  Also, pay attention to coincidences.  There is far more chaos than order.  Politicians fling shit at their opponents, rarely do they employ a laser-guided shit gun.

Thats a little different than news as its an event imo. I should've said the televised news in general. I still have yet watch that hearing but the comments I have read about it, all seem to have the poster's political affiliation involved. Left people think Kavanaugh was unhinged while people on the Right though she was fake and incriminating herself while Kavanaugh was standing up for his family and life's work. Not too surprising.

Anyone think that Trumps FBI directive per the investigation into allegations against Kavanaugh, are in fact, looking into the people who are making and facilitating the accusations. Like Blasey-Ford's lawyer and Feinstein - I read they didnt offer Blasey-Ford the option of a closed door hearing.
