^ Fly to Cebu and do some island hopping, you won't regret it. You'll be beating the local babes off with a stick too, just warning you. It was a tough place to travel in as a married man.

It's actually not bad because pretty much everyone there speaks English. Language barriers can be the most challenging thing in other Asian countries but you won't have that problem there. There are the usual dangers to be aware of and places you definitely want to avoid but you can do some research beforehand.
