two tricks - drive over the tire with your car to break the bead. that or dave swears by using a huge vise.

to seat the tire use the 2 inch wide retractable ratchet straps. use two of these on either side of the tire the webbing of the second one will overlap the first ratchet. crank the shit out of them. after you put the air in stand back and poke the release button with a stick . if you use a regular 2 inch ratchet strap you wont be able to release the buckle once you inflate the tire. one inch straps dont work either you need the width to compress the whole tire. http://www.amazon.ca/Erickson-34416-Retractable-Ratcheting-Tie-Down/dp/B005C2ACBI

I wish I knew those two tricks when i did my first tire. would have saved me plenty of grief

also lots of soap

I will add, when you have your tire put hikers or bigger shoes in it to spread the bead out, this way when you instal it the sides want to stay out, this helps huge…I store my spares like this.

If you have trouble, I can give you a hand. I will charge you beer. Hopefully it will go quick, like the last 2 and it will only cost you one beer.

Going to Vedder on Sunday.

So I'm out.

I am also going to vedder. Was supposed to take a couple of newbs out, but they cancelled. Now I get to drink a beer at the stairway to heaven lookout.

Maybe I will see you there.
