What do you guys use to pull linkage and swing arm bearings? My ghetto system of ready rod, washers and sockets sux

not a big issue, ano comes off the stations quite easily, Steve's was doing that on his 2011, I had an 09 and it was a great bike and now in the hands of a friend who loves it…if you going to buy used you have to expect to do some work. Shiny new sounds good Mark!

So I've got my bike back together, but I'm not 100% convinced that I've sorted out the water pump problem. I don't want to go too far, so I am going to head to ioco around 10. If anyone wants to hook up for a ride, just beware, that I may have bike problems and leave early.

I will be at Ioco at 9am. Riding with a couple guys. 1 new rider.

Hmmm, while i agree that ano comming off is not the end of the world, then why go purchase a new part to cover it up? When i sell used things i disclose, disclose, disclose. Every buyer has the right to choose what they expect to fix up and accept that it may have other issues. Im not an idiot who thinks a used bike would require zero work and have a the reliability of a new bike.
Personally this is not how i would deal with teh ano rubbing off; buy covering it up. You can defend these actions all you want but it is a greasy slope.

Couldn't resist but to ask about the fork. By his response, I'm guessing I'm not the first one. He said he had changed the fork oil during use, and any potential buyer is welcome to take it in and have it looked at.
If noronas right and it wont need a fork soon this bike might be worth looking at for someone. I wouldn't consider it myself though after see what he did with his recent ad.

No one could cover up ano coming off, especially by those seal savers which actually probably caused the pre-mature wear of the ano to start with. Ano will not make a bit of difference to any user on a trials bike, a scratch on the other hand would be a deal breaker or a serious drop in price…also for anyone thinking of those seal savers that velcro on, don't use them, they hold in moisture and dirt and drive it further in the stations…just keep them clean or clean them after a muddy ride and your much better off…all those bikes look good except for the price…the beta 250 on craigslist would be good for 2000.00 the 4 stroke probably is a great bike, but probably is hard to start…those 4 strokes are…37-3800 is what i would suggest…and 4 grand for the 09 beta

From what you are saying I guess the diameter of the stanchions isn't reduced by the loss of ano?

I agree about the seal savers. My 07 exc 450 came with one on the lower rear shock.
It took a week of heat and pounding to get that bolt out.

I'm still looking for a bike if the right one comes up.

anodizing is roughly .0002" to .0008" thick.

As long as there is no bushing slop things should be ok as the ano is mostly a cosmetic thing.

I know my old 888 Marzocchis had the ano go and the forks ran just fine.

Covering it up after the fact is a little cheezy though.

I guess you can times that ano thickness x 2 for the tube dia.

You would think every fork would be different, depending on the ano thickness (process), how tight the bushings and seals were manufactured to, to begin with.

Were splitting hairs now literally :) lol.
