Looks like lots of precip for saturday and sunday so the kid's baseball game will likely be cancelled.

The question is, do we really want to ride in the pouring rain?

Ouch! At least you can work on motorbikes till you are well enough to ride them. No shortage of them around your place.

Most of the parts are here, but I am waiting for one last part which is 2 weeks away :(

Nice, you can view the whole series.

A few rides in I am liking trials more than I though.
Bike seems to be running better now after puting a new plug in. Old plug was gapped twice the recommendation. MX boots will work for now but have no grip off the pegs and hard to get a feel for the brake. IOCO is a blast. You can ride around for hours and not really go anywhere. Looking forward to improving my skills out there.
Being old and kind of out of shape, I really didn't think I would be able to ride around for a couple of hours at a time with out a seat, but was wrong.

Anyone on the fence…..do it.
Wish I would have got into it sooner.

I may be asking for too much but I would like something for trials and dual sport and are waterproof. There will be a compromise here though. The SIDI discovery rain look great. Pure trials boots will probably not have the toe protection. Maybe the Gars do?

SIDI make a trial boot also very similar to the rain

Went for a IOCO hike yesterday with the dog.
I hope to get good enough to ride those trails.

Buddy of mine just got the sidi discovery rain…and rides trials.
Seems to quite like them. They are a stiffer boot to start but will likely break in.

These would likely fit most of your needs……

Seems that all the pure trials boots protect the shin and not much else. But the have gripper like good vibram sole. and a nice soft boot feels good on the pegs….

all what you get used to I guess….

and in related boot news….

Can any cobbler work on moto boots?

I noticed a thread has come undo on the back on my boot. Fairly easy access sort of spot. Will regular cobblers work on boots or do you need to go to special place?

Personally I would not try to get a boot that does too many things, trials is specific like xc or dh mtb, trying to do all with one boot usually falls short and you end up buying one specific for each sport eventually so now you purchased 3 boots instead of two. I would choose a specific trials boot as the feeling and flex really do matter and make a big difference…you can use moto boots like I said but you are sacrificing a lot which you might not see at first but as you ride more you will…for dual sport in my opinion you need something that is tougher and goes through more speed abuse with mud, water and protection…just my 2 cents.
