What do people think about adding 0.5% to the PST for transit? Taxpayers will end up paying for it regardless, increasing sales tax seems to spread the pain pretty widely. But, I trust Translink with my money about as much as I'd trust a drunken sailor. How's that Compass Card coming along Translink?

Nope, the tax increase would only be in the Metro Vancouver area. I think that is Lions Bay to Langley, but not sure.
Regardless, I never buy the argument that pits one region of the province against another. What's good for Ft St John is good for Vancouver, and v.v. Do we tell Kelowna to go pay for their own hospitals because I'll never use it?
Other thing I don't like… we're being taxed by Translink, an unelected body. "no taxation without representation" and all that. If I don't like Gregor's policies I can vote for someone else, no option with Translink.

Sort of leaning that way too Translink has to absolutely change, particularly the way its governed. But we need to start cramming a lot of infrastructure projects through the pipeline, Broadway line being one of them.
This may be the easiest way short term, but theres also the spending part of the aspect. Trankslink is up to what now? 150 million? More? Spent on the compass system How about the Translinks cops getting $80,000 annually?
This shit wouldn't fly anywhere but at a private, publicly funded corporation.
