Good one. Not that supportable facts and figures will change the entrenched position of the 'No' side …

So if the vote results show majority in Surrey said 'No', whilst Vancouver majority said 'Yes', can we stop arguing about which rapid transit project is more needed and prioritize Broadway skytrain?

I guess you could if only if you charged the extra PST only in Vancouver and not Surrey

People in the Fraser Valley are much more conservative than those in Vancouver.

So to recap: Surrey wants LRT but doesn't want to pay for it.

How come when richmond and coquitlam want skytrain it's no problem. The Fraser valley wants LRT and we need to increase PST?

No. Surrey has already stated that they will build light rail regardless of this referendum. They should still be able to get funding from the province and the feds, and would likely have to come up with their share via property taxes.

I just got a phone call from a Dr. Daly (from toll free number with display name of "Vote YES"). She said that if I vote YES I will be healthier and I will reduce vehicle traffic by 20% and have bus service every 7-1/2 minutes. She said that if I vote NO then nothing will be done at all as there is no plan B.

She then asked me what my vote would be.

More to the point, with the property tax windfall/increase, why do they need a PST a increase to fund transit improvements?
