Youtube clips are about as useful to me as a miniskirt in Iran.
kurtenbach
because he's my buddy's grandpa, and used to come to our basketball games all the time.
That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.
I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.
naslund's number retired?
lol
Have the Canucks EVER had a good captain? There have been good players that have worn the 'C', but I don't know if there have ever been exceptional captains in a Canucks uniform. Even Messier was a complete wash as a captain here.

Linden?

Hooray for: Bacon, Bikeys, Boobies, Boards, and Beer!
I'm still dumbfounded as to why they are honoring him
I'm not exactly a Naslund fan either. He lacked the grit that I like in a player like Iggy and played a "safe game" imo.
If we're honoring Nasland, the least we could is also honor Bure for being one of the most exciting players to ever wear a Canuck jersey. I always wonder how Bure would do if he entered the NHL in today's game.
But I digress.

I don't get the Naslund hate.
Leading Canuck scorer, 3 time allstar, Lester B.Pearson winner ( most prestigious award IMO as it is bestowed by your peers), 12 years of service and not to mention him and his families off ice contributions to the city. The West Coast Express line was the best in the league for two years. One year him and Bertuzzi finished 2nd and 3rd in scoring. Who knows what would have happened in the lock out year!
The only argument I ever hear against him is that he wasn't vocal enough. I think him and Linden have very similar dispositions and Linden could be mayor of this joint if he tried. I'll take the guy that puts up numbers over a loudmouth any day.
I think he well earned this honor and I hope we have more like him in the future.

Stan Smyl and Trevor Linden; what more needs to be said?
Orland Kurtenbach was tough. Unfortunately his leg break the first season really hurt the Canucks, and he never fully recovered.
