but a lot of the time if you get burned, it is because your neighbour gave you up. (I'm sure that goes for all regional districts pretty much)

This.

If your land is left to grow wild, and neighbours don't care, then you'll hear nothing. If you close your bedroom window blinds at night so the neighbours can't see in, you'll get complaints.

That's just the first step.

If their suspicions are raised by what they see on Google Earth, they now send out a drone to check further.

so how much do you get paid for these inspections?

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

$250.00 flat rate to launch + $100.00 an hour flight time.

10% of any fines levied and up to 50% value for items obtained through search and seizure.

Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.

I think there's some over on Galiano or one of those islands.

With the new BCBC 2012 there are seismic requirements within Part 9 ( the house / small building part ) I doubt cob would meet those requirements without and engineered frame component, like a post and beam / heavy timber framework.

Meror is a really nice guy too. If you have ever been to NK’Mip in Penticton you would be in awe at how beautiful that building is….just wow.

In seismic tests cob structures fared way better than standard post beam structures. This is because the house is essentially one giant, seamless brick.

I've done some biz dev stuff for Meror… It is my dream to have them build my house.

Even a 'properly' build stick house is still a potential POS. Very few builders actually understand modern building science.

Need a lotto win unfortunately…
