I sat on my covered deck with a few buddies, and watched the lightning storm role through.
Mid-way through my friend realized his windows were open.
Watched the fireworks from a rooftop in point grey - clearly the best possible hideout to be in during a thunderstorm. Lightning got so close that one of the strikes made my hair stand on end haha. The sunset was absolutely stunning. I'm looking forward to seeing some photography from the night and the newspaper cover too. Unreal night.
the sky was pretty nuts in esquimalt, rain, rainbows, and apocalyptic looking skies.
Just because I like boys doesn't mean I want to go out with Mike.

you're obviously a fag.

cheers, imagine it a million times louder and brighter in real life and your close to what it felt like.
From Nanaimo sure looked like the lower mainland was getting pounded. Was cool to watch both fireworks and lightening at the same time. The thunder was pretty distant here though so no cool booms.
We were watching the fireworks from the first lookout on Cypress, looked like the lightening was hitting teh Nam. I said 'man, God hates Nanaimo almost as much as I do!'

you guys didn't know it was lightning at first or what  ?
this space is intentionally blank, other than this note about it being blank.

 its a bit different when your watching it strike a few miles away then it hits about 50 metres away!
yeah, but i don't think my reaction would include "what the fuck was that"
down in mexico a few years ago in sept, we had 2 or 3 weeks of straight storms at night. beautiful sunny days and then about 10pm a storm would role through. the master bedroom had no blinds and it was so fucking loud and bright we had no choice but to watch and listen. it was nucking futs. a few that seemed likely as close as what you showed there
but yeah, i took some pics and vid and they do no justice to what it was like right then and there

on my road ride yesterday I got stuck in that rainstorm on the lougheed heading down snake hill/port moody. There was so much soap on the road it was like riding in a bubble bath. I'm never washing my car in the street again, it was fucking nasty.

shit son where in sooke did you move to?
Ha Ha! Made you look.
have fun at the fireworks.
wow what a wicked night. the red/orange sky was amazing. really loud thunder at a couple points. and the fireworks were actually better with the odd lightning strike arcing across the sky as well. all in all a pretty awesome night.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.
