Dear NBR,

I understand some of you may have lived, worked, or hung out in Chicago at some point.

what hole in the wall places should I eat at? any type of food?

what things to see that perhaps are not too obvious?

any suggestions, regarding anything?

please, and thank you.

Deep dish pizza. I think that's the only thing anybody serves there. Anywhere.

Millenium park is cool:

sneek into the ladies bathroom in the bar/restaurant of the Hancock building for the best view of the city.

Kingston Mines for some Blues.

the Chicago style deep dish pizza i had there was surprising shitty, i would avoid.

everything else was fantastic.

Big Star tacos. Yusho. Tons, and tons, of great places. We stayed in the Wicker Park neighbourhood, highly recommend it - great pedestrian street with restaurants, bars, coffee shops, very active. And sorry, there's a great beer culture there - lots and lots of beer variety.

I have heard that they have architectural tours that are very interesting. My wife went about a dozen years ago and she said it was great.

Carlucci's for pasta. Hands down the best I've ever had, hand tossed at the table inside a round of cheese :) Pure bliss.

Have to go to the "the Chop House"….awesome steak and food…an old favorite of Al Capone.
Cool atmosphere…the walls are full of ganster and cops photo's…
Also you have to check out piano bars…

If its not cold (not sure when your going) the river boat cruises are awesome , the best way to see the architecture in Chi-town which has more skyscrapers than NY…Chi-town is the real Gotham City.
