If Cuba can do it why not Canada? Buncha' losers!

I guess its because Canadian doctors are probably paid much higher salaries than Cuban doctors. Medical practitioners aren't considered gods and put on pedestals in more than a few cultures.

No, it's because the feds no longer fund 50% of provinces health care bill they've whittled it down to 19%.

my buddy an MD stayed at a casa paticulare run by a doctor in cuba so of course they talked shop and the cuban doc made most of his money running the B and B

for the longest time Cubans lived longer than Americans which must have been a little embarrassing

Read that a lot of skilled and educated Cubans are leaving their jobs to work in tourism which pays better …

yeah they have the chance to get tips, up until now 70% of the tourists are Canadian so for a Cuban if they learn to speak english its good and will make them mo money

the Casa Paticulare is Cuban for a BnB we stayed in a small cabin in someones back yard for like 25$ a night cheap meals cheap drinks …it was great

they can have a day job and still run the BnB on the side so the MD was making more money running a BnB on the side than being an MD

With the Caribbean nation set to hold its most credible presidential election in sixteen years Ottawa announced it was withdrawing support for the October 9 poll. The Trudeau government’s decision to follow Washington in seeking to undermine the election was confirmed in an anti-Haitian screed titled Canada showing Haiti some tough love. In it CBC reporter Evan Dyer ignores Washington and Ottawa’s intervention in the 2010 election to bring far right president Michel Martelly to power and how their and Martelly’s attempt at a rerun sparked the popular backlash that postponed last year’s vote. Dyer also ignores Canada’s role in plotting, executing and consolidating the 2004 coup against Jean Bertrand Aristide’s government or the fact his Fanmi Lavalas party has been effectively excluded from elections since.

Where did the half billion raised for Haiti go?

Cameco, the Saskatchewan-based uranium mining colossus, is currently in Federal Court facing charges by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) that it illegally avoided a stunning $2.2 billion in Canadian income taxes. It is not only the largest such case in Canadian history but one of the most shameless tax dodges ever hatched by a Canadian corporation. The court case has been delayed for years and just the fact that it has finally made it before a judge is good news. But the news could quickly turn bad if, facing defeat, Cameco makes a pitch to settle for less than the full amount. That would be a miscarriage of justice.

And Gildan are the good ones. At least their private security never opened fire on people protesting for fair treatment.
