cool read that is very relevant in today's world. we really need to be able to understand the opposite pov in order to fully understand a topic.

"A dare for the next time you’re in discussion with someone you disagree with: Don’t try to “win.” Don’t try to “convince” anyone of your viewpoint. Don’t score points by mocking them to your peers. Instead try to “lose.” Hear them out. Ask them to convince you and mean it."

Have to agree with zed on this one. The man of many sheets pretty much hit the sarcasm button full on. You're getting way too srs, if you're missing these ones.

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

To be fair, I didn't read the artical (thats how we spell it up here)

It had graphs and big words and shit…who has time for that?

Same. I started, got bored, and then thought… "but what if they are dumb?"

Don’t score points by mocking them to your peers.

Hillary missed that one I guess.

while the "basket of deplorables" was a poor choice of words on her part, the media definitely ran with a few choice words while ignoring the entirety of her comments. that's actually a good example of what the article is getting at.

so who do we point the finger at in those sorts of cases? the media for spinning a partial truth and misrepresenting the facts or the public for taking what the media says at face value and the complete truth?
