“Many people love to spread rumors saying that I have people ‘behind me’ or that I’m being ‘paid’ or ‘used’ to do what I’m doing. But there is no one ‘behind’ me except for myself. My parents were as far from climate activists as possible before I made them aware of the situation.”

I think the only reason anyone uses the term "used" is because of her age, but she definitely made a name for herself by getting out there and being bold. If there is some puppet master behind her you wouldn't know it by the way she tells it like it is to anyone no matter their status.

Also, Asperger's syndrome is no longer a thing. In the DSM-IV, it was classified as a separate disorder, but the DSM-V (2013) dropped Asperger's as a valid diagnosis and now recognizes those symptoms as being part of the autism spectrum.

I know that the DSM has made this change, and from a clinical perspective it makes sense because it is all part of the same spectrum, but Aspergers is still a useful term for the average Joe because there is a lot of difference between high functioning and low functioning autism.

You folks are talking about the relative sanity of some yurpen kid instead of the price of oil going thru the floor in a thread about oil, what kind of mental illness is that ?

Perhaps if only Jason Kenney could direct more anger towards everything else in Canada  the Arabs and Russians would quit fighting and jack up the price  of oil back up over 100$ a barrel

Kenny is still not angry enough cuz oil is still in the shitter, I don't see any changes coming, the bottom line would be better if they charged tax like every other province instead of cuttting expenses by inciting the doctors to leave

Alberta approves a feasibility study on the proposed hyper-loop from Edmonton to Calgary. Jason Kenny likes the idea. It would make for a half hour trip between the two cities.

That would be a good place to build one if it will have the ridership.  It is a straight run without mountains that sucks to drive in the winter and people could finally live in Calgary and work in Edmonton.

Hyperloop is cool, but this is def not the place for it.  Price tag is "estimated" at $6-10B, but likely would come in more than that.  In contrast, 300 km of high speed train similar to France's TGV would cost about $1.5B and do the trip at 300 km/h.  Given that the population of Edmonton and Calgary combined is about 2.2 million, there's no way they could recoup the cost of a hyperloop on ticket sales.  Even the 300 km/h train, with a stop at Red Deer would be a stretch in terms of feasibility.

C'mon KenN.  They can just borrow against the next future oil boom to pay for their green tech.

Not gunna get these giant lifted Dodge Ram pickup driving guys out of their trucks and on a train. They identify with their truck. Without their truck they are nothing.

How about  designing truck nuts that wouldn't fly off the train at 300kph ?
