No clue why both the Pens and Flyers seem to completely lose their minds every time they play each other. It's kind of ridiculous.

Pitts and Philly are in the same state. It would be like the Flames and Oilers.

I don't see your point… I'm talking about the teams, not the fans?

Both teams seem to completely forget what 'defense' is and just go into crazy run/gun mode. I suppose it makes entertaining hockey, but it's infuriating to watch as a fan that knows how well the Pens can be defensively… We just can't seem to do it against Philly

Not surprisingly, fan hatred and team hatred often play off each other. There is a history of team hatred for nearby/local rivals in many sports the world over: Mets/Yankees, Jets/Giants, Spurs/Arsenal, Everton/Liverpool, Wallabies/All Blacks, Canadiens/Nordiques etc, etc.

Sure Lou got beat pretty solid but that's a really good subtle move. That tiny shoulder drop to look like the start of a deke total freezes the goalie and often with the 5 hole gaping. The quick shot immediately after the freeze is key. After seeing how easily that guy scored I watched your GIF repeatedly to figure out what he did that was so effective.

I scored using that exact move last night and the goalie didn't move either. 5 hole was wide open.
