Apparently, a real safety film from 1976, shown to students. Wow.

You could never pull this off in the US. Either the prankee would pull out a gun and start shooting or they'd drop dead of a heart attack. Either way…lawsuit time.

Wrong. Always.

Rumored biggest wave ever surfed is around 3:10…

So after your ride those massive things and the whitewater catches up to you, do you pretty much just die or? Doesn't seem like there's a graceful way out

If the movie "Chasing Mavericks" is even remotely plausible it seems that the poor bugger just hasta remain calm and hold their breath and let the waves batter them and toss them around like rag dolls until there is enough of a break between the waves to come up for air. According to the movie you need to be able to hold your breath for a good 5 minutes at a time to even attempt this.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Maya Gabeira (mentioned in the credits) nearly died while taking a fall on these waves, there are some internet articles around.

In the movies Ridin Giants a surfer dies at the Mavericks in california during filming if I remember correctly.

Definitely unreal, surfing that monstrously huge a wave.
