The NSMB Random Picture Thread! **NSFW**

Just rolled in from my third cross-country road trip in four years.
Normaly to BC, this time only half way to Sask for a family reunion.

Awesome, awesome drive.
A local rag (National Post) ran a "10 things you have to do before you die" article and said rolling thru Thunder Bay to Sault Ste Marie on a motorcyle has to be one of them.
I agree, but have preferred a coupe, keeps the rain out.

Just watch out for the wildlife! Personally, I've only hit a chipmunk on hwy 17 but I've heard too many stories of near misses/direct hits up there.

Lots of signs warning about that.
All I saw was a porcupine.
I was a passenger in my cousins car in northern Saskatchewan years ago when a cow darted out in front of us and THUD ! The cops found the cow in the ditch and described it as being immobolized. Shit all over the windsheild was evidence in the insurance claim.

That area of Ontario can sure absorb a lot of people.
It was a continuos line of traffic heading north yesterday from Toronto to the Sault. That's 800K of solid traffic. I couldn't beleive it.

I grew up in Kenora, had a whole clan o relatives in the Sault. Been on that north of Superior route more times than I care to remember, in more weather conditions that most could imagine. Mostly to visit the relatives for xmas, so been stopped at Wawa and stuck in some crappy roadside hotel probably half a dozen times because the road was closed by blizzard conditions.

Some pretty crazy microclimates along that route!

I'd always bypassed Kenora until this year.
What a picturesque town.
So different than the mill towns along the way.

On the way up just outside of Thunder Bay (planning to camp at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, another 50K up the road) and traffic comes to a stop.
The cop tells me the road is closed and there's going to be a 5 to 10 hour delay (it was around 7pm and I'm like wtf ?).
I backtracked 100k to the next nearest Provincial Park, Rainbow Falls.
