That's just missing the point, though. The point being, instant power/torque vs delayed.

ahh, so the point is that the tesla is faster, no quicker, over a shorter distance then. well that's good then i guess because it will run out of energy on the highway loooong before the m5 does.

maybe the guy in the m5 will be nice enough to give you a lift somewhere instead yelling "your stupid is showing" out the window as he blasts past you on the hgihway.

Hey, I just put up a dashboard photo to add to a series that had already started. Then just responded to the subsequent attacks. If you don't like the defense, then don't attack.

Bringing up the same old tired arguments (such as two fires in almost two years of production) that are statistically insignificant is just boring and, yes, stupid. If you want to go on the attack, at least challenge me with something meaningful. All this fire shit is just BS kept alive by people who are afraid of change.

Here … have a pic of a gray lourie that I took last year in Africa:

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

And still more complete failure to even try to get it.

now now, there's no need to be defensive. you've got your instant torque, it just doesn't last all that long.

ps -

in terms of "not getting it" maybe figure out how dyno graphs really work. any vehicle can hit peak hp and torque in first gear and at lower speeds, they don't need to get up to full speed. dyno charts usually show hp/torque vs rpm to determine where the powerband is whereas the m5 graph you used showed a top gear run.

According to the dyno graph, up to 70 mph (about 115 km/h) before it gradually tapers off. That's pretty much contained to the range I'm happy to stay within.

Not that I've tested it or anything.

oh for sure like you've said that's the beauty of em's, essentially instant full power and torque - we'll never see an infernal combustion engine do that. i was just referring to range. at a good clip with the larger batteries you're getting about 400km of playtime in the tesla and the m5 is doing 650km.

Those e-bikes are sweet. Probably scary quick too.

That's why you'll be seeing more and more hybrid supercars, as per Top Gear. On-demand power and torque while the ICE is getting up to speed.
