I'd like to know when the UN is sending in it's troops to take over the US now that Obama has won..

I see Judge Head has been celebrating Referendum 74 in WA State?

Good speech, I really hope that we can get a good record of bipartisanship going to find solutions to problems that won't go away otherwise.

I'm very interested how the US feds react to legalization in the states. Also, could there be a bc referendum in the election this spring?

It's still illegal on a federal level, so any dispensary could be raided any time.
I find it ironic the republicans are always bitching about giving the states more power
but when it comes to abortion and drugs, they won't let go one inch.

Oh yeah…FUCK YEAH!

The WA law is not for "medicinal" use. It's for legal pot. Sold thru 260 state stores, like how the state liquor stores used to be. You need to be 21, and can have up to an ounce. You cannot grow, whether for personal or professional reasons, without purchasing a $1000 per year license, with $250 application fee. There are a limited amount of licenses. Growers sell to "packagers and processors", and is taxed at 25%. Packagers sell to state stores, taxed at 25%. Stores sell to end user, taxed at 25% plus 8.25% sales tax.
Other weird bits: weed must be sealed in stores, and you cannot open the seal in store.
Driving while impaired: limit is .05 ppm blood test, which is extremely low. Basically, if you have smoked within the last 5 days, you will fail the dwi blood test.

Democrat - Unemployed, burnt out hippies and college students with no hope of getting a job that doesn't involve asking if I want fries with that.

Republicans - still going to go to work in the morning and actually contribute to society.

I know this comment was a bit tongue in cheek (I hope) but you can't honestly believe that can you????

If fox news always says Obama is the worst president of all time, does that make Romney the worst candidate of all time?

Gotta love the american government actually giving their people the right to vote on major proposals as part of the election.

Apparently the Canadian government believes we are only competent enough to make one choice on election night.

Would be nice to have the ability to vote on things like pipelines, salmon farming, HST, drug legalization, etc, etc.

Until they start writing unrelated social reform into popular propositions to appease the zealot idiots who fund their parties election campaigns. The American electorate doesn't educate themselves enough on these issues to be effective, mostly they vote with their favorite commercials. I don't want that for Canada, I'd rather elect good parliamentarians who can lucidly debate issues and get to the best solution to our problems as a result. Unfortunately, we haven't had that for a while either, and the proclivity for omnibus bills on behalf of the Parliament is doing nothing but undermining debate at that level.

Florida still hasn't been finalized … bets on how long the recounts continue (despite the fact it won't change the outcome)?

So has Obama won the overall popular vote yet? Getting tired of republicans using that as an excuse to why Romney should have won.

The trend of Romney winning the popular vote reversed quickly as soon as they started counting California and the the rest of the west coast.

As of now, Obama has 2,5 million + votes more than Romney.
