Calgary was robbed....and i hate the flames.

It was a tough call (that I mostly agree with), but at the end of the day I think the Oilers were going to win this series anyway so it's kind of moot that the call didn't go Calgary's way.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an NHL playoffs where the refs didn't play a leading role.  That was a 100% bullshit call.  He was trying to not smash into the net and it was going in anyway.

the puck went off his skate into the net... good call.

Yep. I'm biased due to being a huge Flames fan, but it was a devastating call that isn't backed up by how they usually make those calls. In almost every case, it has to be an undeniable kicking motion causing the puck to enter the net. In this case his other leg was being lifted while he was being pushed towards the crease, so of course his remaining leg is going to stabilize is fall. Additionally, if he hadn't contacted the puck, there were no players capable of preventing the puck from going in all by itself. All 3 of those factors should have made it an easy decision to go with the call on the ice, which was a good goal.

Pucks go off skates for good goals all the time. That's not what the rule is trying to prevent.

This smells like the 1999 Stanley Cup final when Brett Hull kicked the puck in to eliminate the Sabres.

Did he kick it in? I thought it was because he had a toenail in the crease. One of the STUPIDEST rules ever. Don was absolutely right when he predicted that would happen at a crucial time in the playoffs. Who new it would be for the cup winning goal.

Personally I would have ruled in Calgary’s favour knowing Edmonton still had two games to take the series. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but like Marcus, I’m entitled to one.

Fuck Calgary anyway.

Amazing how fast McDavid got that shot away.  Couldn't properly see it at regular speed.

The only other player I can recall doing ridiculous things with the puck at full speed like that was Bure.

Going down a Guy Lafleur rabbit hole came upon this gemstone: He had a disco themed hockey instruction album. Inspirational chorus got me genuinely fired up to play some hockey hahaha 😂

God love him, what a legend.

I like Bieksa's view of the no goal call, saying he tried to mask kicking it in and got caught.  I don't agree with his assessment thought that if you end up losing a skate (on the ice) you try to keep your legs together so you don't rip your groin apart.   Haven't played hockey in awhile, but that was never something I thought about.

Bad officiating in today's Finland-Canada final. The euros are diving like soccer players.

For sure.  It always happens sooner or later with someone as good as he is.

Good game last night. Rangers look for real. after watching the post game interviews with Stamkos and Hedman I’d say they almost looked shocked. Especially Hedman .First time they’ve lost two in a row during the playoffs since 2019.
